We live in an age where truth is blurred and deception is celebrated. Disarming Deception exists to help believers see clearly—to recognize falsehood, anchor themselves in Scripture, and stand firm in the spiritual battles shaping our world. This ministry equips the Church with biblical discernment and practical tools to expose the enemy’s strategies, defend the faith, and walk confidently in the truth of God’s Word.
Disarming Deception is a teaching and equipping ministry devoted to exposing the strategies of spiritual deception and empowering believers to stand unshaken in God’s truth. Drawing from the research and insights from his books, papers, and research, founder Jonathan K. Corrado combines biblical theology, apologetics, and lessons learned from military strategy to illuminate how the enemy manipulates perception and erodes truth.
We live in a time when lies are packaged as enlightenment and truth is treated as intolerance. Through speaking engagements, study resources, and discipleship tools, Disarming Deception equips Christians to:
Recognize how deception operates in culture, media, and belief systems.
Anchor their thinking in the unchanging authority of Scripture.
Apply discernment to everyday decisions and conversations.
Engage the world with confidence, grace, and unwavering conviction.
Corrado’s perspective—shaped by decades of service as a U.S. Navy officer and his lifelong study of Scripture—brings a unique clarity to the battle between truth and falsehood. Each resource and event is designed as a “counter-PSYOP manual” for believers, helping them expose lies that masquerade as truth and replace them with the unshakable foundation of God’s Word.
At its core, Disarming Deception calls the Church back to vigilance and courage. In a generation inundated with half-truths, the ministry invites believers to stand firm, fully armed with spiritual discernment, and to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ with boldness and love.
“You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” — John 8:32
Jonathan*K.*Corrado is a Bible scholar whose extensive background in the military and defense industry gives him a unique perspective. He connects Satan’s deceptive strategies with military psychological operations (PSYOPs), developing counter-PSYOP methods that help Christians recognize and resist deception, engaging in spiritual battle and living the life God intends. As Scripture says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Eph 6:12).
John served over two decades in the U.S. Navy, active and reserve, attaining the rank of Captain (O-6). His assignments spanned shipboard operations, aircraft carrier nuclear plant management, amphibious warfare, military intelligence, and joint operations. He holds qualifications as a Surface Warfare Officer, Nuclear Engineering Officer, and Seabee Combat Warfare Officer, and completed five deployments at sea and in ground combat theaters.
Beyond the Navy, he worked in the defense industry and at a Department of Defense laboratory, overseeing sensitive programs in cyber warfare, covert communications, and clandestine electronics. His direct involvement in military deception and PSYOPs further deepened his expertise.
His academic credentials include a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute, an M.Eng. Management from Old Dominion University, and a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Colorado State University. He also holds theological degrees from Nations University and Liberty University (M.T.S., M.Div., Th.M.). He is a graduate of the Navy Nuclear Power Program, Naval Postgraduate School, Joint Forces Staff College, U.S. Air Force Command and Staff College, and U.S. Air Force War College, and is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ohio. An adjunct professor of engineering at Liberty University, he invests in the next generation of leaders by integrating faith, scholarship, and real-world application.
John’s research interests include theology, apologetics, creation science, nuclear and systems engineering, human performance, and military affairs. He has authored numerous refereed journal articles and books and contributes regularly to Creation Magazine and the Institute for Creation Research’s Creation Science Update. A passionate defender of the faith, he has a heart for apologetics and longs to help believers love God with both heart and mind, standing confident in the truth of Scripture.
While his résumé reflects years of rigorous training and worldly accomplishments, Jonathan’s deepest passion is not in titles or degrees but in pointing people to Christ. He views every chapter of his life—whether commanding sailors aboard a warship, navigating the uncertainty of a combat zone, or shepherding his children at home—as part of God’s classroom for shaping a servant of the Kingdom. Each trial and triumph has been used by the Lord to deepen his faith and sharpen his mission. As the apostle Paul wrote, “But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord” (Phil 3:7–8).
John lives with an urgency to help believers see through the fog of deception that clouds today’s world. He longs for Christians to stand firm on the unshakable truth of God’s Word, to develop the discernment needed to resist the enemy’s schemes, and to live courageously for the gospel in a culture bent on compromise. His calling is not merely to teach ideas but to rally the church to active, Spirit-empowered faith.
For John, fulfilling his Kingdom purpose means equipping others to wage spiritual warfare with confidence, clarity, and hope. His zeal is contagious: he speaks and writes with the conviction that victory is already secured in Christ and that every believer is called to live boldly as a light in the darkness.
John resides in Cincinnati, Ohio, with his wife, Erin, and their four children—Vince, Bentley, Naomi, and Scarlett—where they cherish family, faith, and service to their local church.
