A Foundational Question

Before examining claims about truth, salvation, or authority, one foundational question matters:

Who is Jesus?

Not who others say He is.

Not how traditions describe Him.

But who He is understood to be.

Different explanations of Jesus exist:

• some describe Him as a moral teacher

• others as a prophet sent by God

• some as a created being

• others as God revealed in human history

Each explanation carries consequences.

Each leads to a different understanding of authority, salvation, and truth.

For now, there is no need to decide or defend a position.

This question will be returned to later—after examining evidence, consistency, and Scripture’s own claims.
