Testing Prophetic Claims
God’s standard allows no revision
God’s standard allows no revision
In Deuteronomy 18, God gives a clear, objective test for anyone claiming to speak on His behalf.
The test is not sincerity.
It is accuracy.
If a prophecy fails—even once—it does not come from God.
God does not require His people to sort through revisions or corrections.
“When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.”
